WhatsApp support group

support in acute situations

Due to the severity of the symptoms, those affected find themselves in a very stressful situation. We would therefore like to refer to the offer of telephone counseling at this point. Here you will find the opportunity to exchange information over the phone in 1:1 contact: www.telefonseelsorge.de/

Open WhatsApp discussion group for those affected

Doctors and specialists often do not take the symptoms of those affected seriously. Therefore, a feeling of helplessness can quickly arise. A first way to counteract this feeling is to exchange ideas with other affected people.

For this reason, in addition to our internal association, we run another WhatsApp group for those affected, the discussion group. You can use these without having to join our association. Simply send us an e-mail with your cell phone number and a request to be included in the WhatsApp discussion group.

Please note, however, that this WhatsApp group is only intended for those affected by PSSD. For this reason, we can only admit you if you have experienced symptoms of PSSD and these persist even after stopping the medication. So, before making your request, use the Symptoms section to find out whether you really have PSSD symptoms.

If you would like to join the discussion group, please send us an e-mail in which you briefly describe how long you have had the symptoms, whether you are still taking medication, etc.

WhatsApp group rules

In order for our WhatsApp group to be able to offer its members optimal help, a few self-evident rules are necessary. We ask all members to observe and abide by these rules. In the event of an infringement, we reserve the right to exclude the relevant members from the association or group.

Confidentiality: What's in the group stays in the group. The messages and statements of others will be treated confidentially. Passing on messages: The messages and statements of others will not be passed on without their consent. Treating each other with respect: We treat each other with respect and refrain from insults and accusations. Criticism should be expressed objectively and constructively. Appropriate choice of words: In our group we speak very openly about sometimes very intimate topics. Please make sure to keep an appropriate tone. Positive attitude/dealing with suicidal thoughts: Despite the stressful situation, the group should try to adopt a positive attitude. No suicidal intentions may be expressed in the group, as this destabilizes other members.Conspiracy theories and hate speech: No conspiracy theories or hate messages are spread.Advertising and/or financial interests: No advertising for alleged cures or the like is spread. No financial interests (e.g. tips against payment) are pursued. Diagnosis and recommendation of medication: No diagnosis is made and no recommendations regarding a change in dosage are made. Also, no medication is recommended. On the other hand, statements about your own experiences with a certain drug and the dosage are absolutely fine.Purchasing drugs: No tips are given on illegally purchasing prescription drugs.Voice messages: Voice messages are only sent in exceptional cases, as it is difficult to follow the chat , when many voice messages are sent. The moderators may send specially marked voice messages to provide information about important developments and events.

Closed exchange group for club members

For all members of the association, we offer the so-called exchange group, a WhatsApp group that deals exclusively with organizational matters relating to the association (e.g. information about campaigns, general meetings, etc.). In this group, questions such as healing, doctor visits, etc. are not discussed.

More groups

We keep receiving e-mails from people who ask to be included in the WhatsApp group, but who have not yet stopped using the suspected drug at the time of the request.

Symptoms are likely to go away after stopping the drug. However, we have recognized that these people also suffer from a high level of suffering.

For this reason, we have decided to offer these people a platform to exchange ideas. We have therefore created another WhatsApp group for this group of people.

07.03.2021

We have decided to discontinue the "Medication Group" as demand has decreased and the group is inactive. In addition, unfortunately, we do not have the time to moderate several WhatsApp groups in such a way that they can provide support in a difficult situation. Nevertheless, you are welcome to contact us if you have any questions.

Broadcasting-Liste/Newsletter

A broadcasting list, i.e. a WhatsApp newsletter, is being planned because we understand that many of those affected cannot cope with the sometimes high number of messages in the open discussion round.

We want to keep in touch with those affected and offer the opportunity to be informed about current developments without being confronted with the topic on a daily basis.
